• Cayenne Coolant Pipe Failure

  The 4.5 liter V8 Cayenne uses plastic coolant pipes bonded in the engine valley. Age and heat cycling cause them to separate and leak internally, often with no visible puddle. The correct repair replaces them with aluminum pipes. Done properly this is a one time fix.

• PDK Dual Clutch Service

  PDK fluid and filter service falls due around every 40,000 miles and is routinely skipped because there is no warning light for it. Old fluid causes harsh low speed engagement and accelerates clutch pack wear. Service is a fraction of the cost of a rebuild.

• IMS Bearing (996 and early 997)

  The intermediate shaft bearing on the 996 and early 997 is a known failure point, and failure typically takes the engine with it. We inspect the bearing during clutch work, when access is already open, and fit an upgraded bearing where appropriate.

• Air Suspension, Cayenne and Panamera

  Compressors, valve blocks, air lines and struts all fail independently. A dealer estimate often assumes full replacement. We isolate the failed component, which frequently turns a four figure quote into a far smaller repair.

• Bore Scoring and Oil Consumption

  Certain M96 and M97 engines develop cylinder wall scoring, showing up as oil consumption, a ticking noise when cold and eventually misfires. We borescope the cylinders to confirm before anyone spends money on guesswork.

• Rear Main Seal and Clutch

  Rear main seal seepage is common on flat six cars and is best addressed while the transmission is out for clutch work. Doing both together saves a second round of labor on the same teardown.

• Carbon Buildup on Direct Injection

  Direct injection engines get no fuel wash over the intake valves, so carbon accumulates and restricts airflow. Symptoms are rough idle, hesitation and lost efficiency. Walnut blasting removes the deposits without disassembly damage.

• Transfer Case, Cayenne and Macan

  Transfer case actuator and chain wear produces a whine or a binding feel in tight turns. Caught early it is a serviceable repair. Left alone it becomes a full transfer case replacement.

• Water Pump and Thermostat Housing

  Plastic pump impellers and housings become brittle with heat cycling and fail without much warning. On a flat six a cooling failure escalates quickly, so we treat any temperature irregularity as urgent.

Porsche publishes a 10,000 mile oil interval, which is reasonable for light road use but too long for turbocharged cars, track days or short trip driving. We shorten it in those cases.
