• CVT Fluid Service

  The single most important service on any Infiniti with a CVT, and the one most often never performed. These transmissions are extremely sensitive to fluid condition and heat. Fresh fluid at sensible intervals is the difference between a long life and a replacement, and the replacement is one of the largest bills on the car.

• VQ37 Timing Chain Tensioner

  The VQ engines develop tensioner wear that presents as a rattle on cold start. Caught at the noise it is a contained repair. Left long enough the chain skips and the damage is severe.

• Oil Consumption on VQ Engines

  Higher mileage VQ engines consume oil through valve stem seals and ring wear. We diagnose the actual cause rather than recommending that you keep topping it up, because the two paths cost very different amounts over the life of the car.

• VR30 Turbocharger Coolant Lines

  On the twin turbo VR30 the turbo coolant lines and the auxiliary pump are known items. Symptoms are coolant loss with no obvious external leak and heat soak after a hard run.

• Cooling System and Oil Cooler

  Water pumps, thermostats and oil cooler seals on the VQ engines. Worth attention because a slow coolant loss on these is easy to miss until it is not.

• Front Differential and Transfer Case, all wheel drive

  Pinion seal leaks and transfer case wear on the all wheel drive cars produce a whine or binding in tight turns. Both are repairable early and replacements if not.

• Brake Rotor Wear

  These cars are hard on rotors, and rotor condition rather than pad thickness is usually what determines the job. We measure rather than assume, so you are not paying for discs that still have life.

• Steering Lock and Immobiliser Module

  A known failure that prevents the car starting and needs manufacturer level access to replace and code. A generic scanner cannot complete it.

One item outranks everything else on an Infiniti with a CVT, and that is fluid service. These transmissions do not tolerate degraded or overheated fluid, and the repair when they fail is among the largest on the car.
