• Air Suspension, Compressor and Struts

  The most common high cost item on these vehicles, and the one most often over quoted. Compressor, valve block, air lines and individual struts all fail separately. A dealer estimate frequently assumes the whole system. We isolate the failed part, which often turns a four figure quote into something far smaller.

• Timing Chain on the 5.0 Supercharged V8

  Chain and tensioner wear shows up as a rattle on cold start, typically somewhere around 40,000 to 50,000 miles. Caught at the rattle stage it is a contained job. Ignored, a jumped chain does serious damage. If your Range Rover or Sport rattles for a second or two on a cold morning, have it looked at now.

• Coolant Crossover Pipes

  The crossover pipes and their plastic fittings become brittle with heat cycling and let go, sometimes with very little warning. On a supercharged V8 a coolant loss escalates quickly, so we treat any temperature irregularity as urgent rather than something to watch.

• Supercharger Intercooler Pump

  The auxiliary pump that circulates coolant through the intercooler fails quietly. You lose power under sustained load before you see a warning, so it is easy to write off as the car feeling flat.

• Water Pump and Thermostat Housing

  Plastic housings and pump impellers are a known weak point across the range. We replace the housing rather than only the thermostat, because doing the cheap part first usually means paying the labor twice.

• Transfer Case and Front Differential

  Transfer case actuator and chain wear produces a whine or binding in tight turns. The front differential leaks from the pinion seal. Both are repairable when caught early and both become replacements when they are not.

• EGR Cooler and Diesel Emissions

  On diesel models the EGR cooler cracks and lets coolant into the intake. It presents as coolant loss with no external leak, which sends a lot of people looking in the wrong place.

• Parking Brake Actuator

  The electric parking brake actuator is a common failure that locks the car with the brake applied. Diagnosis needs manufacturer level access to release and recalibrate the module.

Two items on these vehicles are worth scheduling rather than waiting for. Air suspension should be inspected annually, because a compressor working harder than it should is a warning you can act on cheaply. And on the 5.0 supercharged V8, timing chain inspection from around 40,000 miles is the single most valuable thing you can book, because the noise stage and the failure stage are separated by a very large invoice.
